At the Noodle Box we are always seeking out fresh and local products to serve to our customers, and I Kyu Noodles is our latest find.

I Kyu Noodles is owned by chef Carlos Chan, a long time friend and previous supplier to The Noodle Box. We are currently carrying his fresh, delicious home-made Pork dumplings, as well as Ribbon noodles, and Udon noodles at all of our locations in downtown Victoria.

We are very excited to be carrying I Kyu Noodles products, and look forward to sharing the experience with our customers. Come in today and taste the difference of fresh home-made products!

Please help support the flood victims of Pakistan

Around 15.4 million people have been affected by what the Government says are the worst floods in Pakistan’s history.

The Noodle Box is donating $2,000.00 to the World Food Program and Red Cross to help aid the people of Pakistan. The Canadian Government has said they will match any donations made. You can help donate money at our front counters or by buying our re-usable shopping bags at all of our locations.

The people of Pakistan are in desperate need of our help, so please get involved in anyway you can. Also, check out these websites if you’d like to make a donation of your own:

Noodle Box and Fringe Fest 2010

The Noodle box is happy to be partnering up as a Fringe Friend again this year! We will be offering $1.00 off of any food purchase at our Fisgard and Douglas Street locations to anyone that has their 2010 Fringe button visible. We will also have donation jars at our front counters incase you decide that you want to take the $1.00 you just saved and donate it right back to the Fringe.

Stop by and grab a box or call in your order so that you are sure to make it to your desired show on time. We are licensed and will be featuring some great B.C. Wines by the glass or the bottle as well as delicious homemade Sangria and Phillips draft beer!!!

The Fringe needs all of our support to be able to combat against the B.C. Arts Council Cuts. We love the Fringe and encourage everyone to get out there and show their support, and enjoy some amazing shows performed by some extremely talented artists.

A message from Ian Case, general Manager of The Fringe:

“Noodle Box fuels many Fringe staffers and many a performer during the Fringe. It’s inexpensive, healthy and full of yummy goodness. But Fringe cannot survive on Noodle Box alone, which is one of the reasons we’re so pleased to be partnering with the fabulous folks at Noodle Box on their “donate to the Fringe” program.

In the last two years the Fringe and the arts in BC have had a rough go of it with our provincial government. Changes to Gaming Funding meant we lost $35,000 in funding in 2009 and $61,000 in support in 2010. Cuts to the BC Arts Council will mean we can expect to lose even more provincial support in 2011. This funding helps to make the Fringe possible. It pays for venues, for technicians and staff, for technical equipment rentals and for free activities like the Fringe Kick Off Concert, FringeKids and many other wonderful special events. We’re very proud of the Victoria Fringe, one of the oldest and biggest theatre events taking place in our province and we know you are too.

To be able to continue to producing the Fringe we need you help, which is why we, and the good folks at Noodle Box, are asking you to consider donating to the Fringe when you make your next Noodle Box purchase! The Noodle Box Victoria loves Ambrosio & all their local veggies

The Noodle Box Victoria is so happy to be working with Ambrosio this summer. We started buying produce from them at the beginning of 2010, and with their excellent selections we have been able to now buy all of vegetables locally.
Yes, thats right 100% of our produce this month is now entirely from the island!

Dragon Boat Festival & India MELA Fest

This weekend will be full of fun, culture, dance and food! Dragon Boat festival is happening this weekend in the Inner Harbor, and the Noodle Box is taking part by providing quick, delicious treats for you to take and enjoy. Dragon Boat Fest is one of Victoria, British Columbia’s most spectacular summer festivals and the only Dragon Boat Festival in Canada to take place in a Working Harbor. Watch 90 Dragon Boat Teams from across North America race across a 500-metre water course in Victoria’s Beautiful Inner Harbor.

India Fest will also be taking place this weekend in the beautiful Centennial Square. Come and check out the culture and colors of India, and while you’re relishing in these great visions stop by either Noodle Box location and enjoy our Indian inspired specials. The India Fest (MELA) will be a culturally inclusive event driven and showcasing the Indian community in Victoria. It is an opportunity to allow our flourishing Indian community to celebrate its accomplishments and share the power, diversity and colour of Indian culture with the mainstream community. The Noodle Box is honored to take part in its own way by showcasing the wonderful tastes and smells of India. This 2-day event will include a main stage for all types of Indian entertainment.

Artistic Noodles at 626 Fisgard Street & 818 Douglas

The Noodle Box is very pleased to present Melchor Abubo’s new collection at the Fisgard Street location. Melchor is a long time friend of The Noodle Box and has featured his art at both our stores in Victoria and Vancouver in the past. His art is always bold and exciting to see and with his Philippine background has a lovely asian flair to it.
This collection features a variety of beautifully organic and whimsical paintings, which are all priced very reasonably.

At 818 douglas street we are pleased to present Rachel Gurevitch’s collection of original paintings. Rachel is local Victoria artist who’s paintings truly reflect a west coast environment. Her art has a refreshing happy feel to it and it is our pleasure to have in the store. All of her painting are for sale, please inquire with the front of house staff if you are interested.

For BC Day long weekend our Douglas and Fisgard locations have banned together and come up with a Special’s menu that will be featured at both stores. Taco Box Cart hits Symphony Splash!

The Taco Box will be serving up delicious authentic Mexican treats at this years Symphony Splash! Victoria Symphony Splash is an annual Victoria Symphony event that takes place on a floating stage moored in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. It includes musical entertainment, food, souvenirs and the evening’s highlight: a live performance by the Victoria Symphony. Splash is now one of the largest annual symphony events in North America, attracting up to 40,000 Victoria residents and visitors. The concert concludes with a performance of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with bells, cannons, and fireworks. The Symphony Splash is one of Victoria’s greatest events, and we are proud to be a part of this years show. Come down and support your local vendors in the wonderful sounds and ambiance created by the Victoria Symphony Splash!

The Noodle Box would like to say a big Congratulations! to Sarah and Matt, both long time employees of The Noodle Box. Sarah and Matt are getting MARRIED this weekend! After years of long lusting gazes at each other from across the restaurant, they decided to make it official, and announced their engagement last Fall. We are all very happy for them and wish them happiness,love, and all the best in their future lives together.

Getting Down At Ska Fest So We Can Give It Back!

We were able to generate enough profit to give back to the local skate park, Six Side and The World Food Program. We have to say that all the bands were great but Fishbone and The Black Seeds put on a amazing high energy show! Also thanks to the Ska Soceity for asking us to participate in this years festival.
